Why Shengde

Clutch parts engineered from material to finished set

We do not assemble other people's parts. Forging, machining, heat treatment, friction-material bonding, balancing and testing all happen inside our own plant — which is how we keep tolerances and lead times under control.

  • Certified raw material

65Mn spring steel, 20CrMnTi alloy and ADC12 die-cast aluminium are sourced from state-owned mills, with mill certificates traceable to every batch number.

  • In-house friction bonding

Paper-based and Kevlar friction linings are bonded under controlled temperature and pressure, then cured and measured so the friction coefficient stays between 0.13 and 0.16 μ.

  • Controlled heat treatment

Austenitising, quenching and tempering are run in sealed furnaces. Steel plates hold HRC 42–46 and splined hubs hold HRC 58–62 for wear and impact resistance.

  • Tight dimensional control

CNC turning, broaching and grinding keep plate flatness ≤ 0.05 mm and basket runout ≤ 0.08 mm, eliminating clutch drag and judder.

  • 100 % end-of-line testing

Every clutch assembly is dynamically tested and every cover is air-tightness checked before packing. Inspection reports travel with the shipment.

  • OEM / ODM customisation

Send a sample, drawing or OEM part number. We reverse-engineer, build a prototype within 15 days and support your private label and packaging design.

Product range

Motorcycle clutch assemblies, discs, springs and more

Twelve core product families covering the most common engines in Asia, Latin America and Africa — plus custom development for anything not listed.

Inside the clutch

How a wet multi-plate motorcycle clutch works

Understanding the stack helps you specify the right kit. Our engineers are happy to review your engine's torque curve and recommend plate count, lining compound and spring rate.

  1. 1

    Clutch basket & primary drive

The alloy basket carries the primary drive gear and holds the outer tabs of the friction discs.

  2. 2

    Friction disc stack

Paper-based or Kevlar-lined friction discs alternate with steel plates; more discs equal more torque capacity.

  3. 3

    Steel plate & hub

65Mn steel plates key into the splined centre hub (20CrMnTi), which transmits drive to the gearbox input shaft.

  4. 4

    Springs & pressure plate

Six springs clamp the stack through the pressure plate. Spring rate and free length set lever feel and slip resistance.

Torque capacity shown for each product is measured on our in-house dynamometer with 65Mn steel plates and standard OEM spring rate.

Applications

Built for every motorcycle segment we serve

Different markets stress clutches in different ways. Delivery riders in congested cities wear out friction discs; racers punish heat capacity; cargo tricycles demand pure torque. We tune the stack for each duty cycle.

  • Commuter & delivery bikes — Applications

    Commuter & delivery bikes

100–150cc street and delivery motorcycles doing high-stop-and-go city mileage. Kevlar-blend linings extend disc life under repeated half-engagement.

  • Sport & street performance — Applications

    Sport & street performance

150–250cc performance engines that need sharper engagement, higher clamp load and heat stability during aggressive downshifts.

  • Touring & long-distance — Applications

    Touring & long-distance

Sustained highway running with luggage load. We target smooth modulation and minimal fade across long continuous operation.

  • Racing & motokits — Applications

    Racing & motokits

Track and rally use where a predictable launch matters. Billet-quality hubs, shot-peened plates and uprated springs available.

  • Scooter & CVT drive — Applications

    Scooter & CVT drive

GY6, AN and CH platforms with dry centrifugal clutches. Tuned shoe geometry and lining compounds are matched to engagement RPM.

  • ATV, UTV & cargo tricycle — Applications

    ATV, UTV & cargo tricycle

Heavy-duty and utility vehicles carrying constant torque loads. Reinforced 7-disc stacks and hardened hubs for torque up to 95 N·m.

Manufacturing capabilities

From raw steel to a sealed, tested clutch kit

Six integrated production stages under one roof keep quality decisions local and lead times short.

  1. 01

    Material inspection

Incoming steel and alloy batches are verified against mill certificates; hardness and chemistry are re-checked before release to production.

  2. 02

    Forging & blanking

Precision blanking of 65Mn steel and hot forging of alloy hubs give a dense grain structure with predictable fatigue behaviour.

  3. 03

    CNC machining

Turning, broaching, slotting and grinding on CNC centres produce splines, slots and faces within ±0.02 mm.

  4. 04

    Heat treatment

Sealed-furnace carburising for hubs, quench-and-temper for plates; hardness and case depth are logged per batch.

  5. 05

    Friction bonding & curing

Friction material is bonded, cured and ground to thickness, then friction coefficient is sampled from every production lot.

  6. 06

    Assembly & 100 % testing

Kits are assembled, torque-tested on dynamometers, air-tightness checked and packed with batch traceability labels.

Quality assurance

Clutch parts you can put your warranty behind

Quality control is not a final gate here — it runs through incoming material, in-process checks and final testing, with records kept for every batch we ship.

  • Incoming material control

Zero release without hardness, dimension and chemistry verification against mill certificates.

  • In-process inspection

First-article approval plus hourly patrol checks on thickness, flatness, tooth profile and surface finish.

  • Final performance testing

Torque capacity, slippage and engagement RPM verified on dynamometers; covers air-tightness tested at 0.2 MPa.

  • Batch traceability

Each set carries a batch code linking back to steel lot, heat-treatment record and inspector. Claims are answered with data.
